Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Important:  When removing a door trim panel or a switch plate, the ignition switch must be in the OFF position. This will eliminate the possibility of shorting out the switch if a flat-bladed tool, awl or metal object is used to remove the switch from the harness.

Important:  Protect the trim panel at the point of insertion of the flat-bladed tool in order to avoid damaging the door panel.

  1. Use a small, flat-bladed tool to remove the power window switch plate.

From under the pull handle, insert the tool at the rear of the switch plate, press forward to release the retainer and lift up on the plate.
