Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the knuckle (5) to the vehicle.
  2. Hand start the strut to knuckle bolts and nuts. Do not tighten the nuts at this time.

  3. Connect the rear suspension trailing arm (6) to the knuckle (8). Refer to Trailing Arm Replacement

  4. Connect the rear wheel spindle rods to the knuckle. Refer to Spindle Rod Replacement 
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  5. Install the bearing/hub assembly. Refer to Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear (Disc Brakes) 

    Tighten 

    Tighten the strut to knuckle bolts (7) to 122 N.m (90 lb ft).

  6. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION in Tires and Wheels.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Inspect the rear wheel alignment, adjust if necessary. For wheel alignment specifications, refer toINTRIGUE in Wheel Alignment.
