The A/C compressor is accessed through the right wheel opening. Turn the steering wheel to the right before lifting the vehicle.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the lower radiator air baffle. Remove the engine splash shield from the right side. Remove the bolt from the A/C compressor hose. See Fig 1. Disconnect the hose from A/C compressor.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C compressor. Remove and discard the sealing washers. Remove the mounting bolts from the front and from the rear A/C compressor. See Fig 2. Remove the top mounting bolts from the A/C compressor. Remove the A/C compressor.
  4. If replacing the compressor, drain and measure as much of the oil as possible from the removed compressor:
    • Drain the oil from both the suction and discharge ports of the removed compressor into a clean container.
    • Remove the compressor crankcase oil drain plug and drain the crankcase oil into the same container.
    • Measure and record the amount of oil drained from the removed compressor.
    • This measurement will be used during installation of the replacement compressor.
Properly discard the used PAG oil.
