Removal Procedure

NOTE: When adding coolant, use DEX-COOL® coolant. If silicated coolant is added to the system, premature engine, heater core or radiator corrosion may result. In addition, the engine coolant will require change sooner-at 50,000 km (30,000 ml) or 24 months.
  1. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System .
  2. Reposition the surge tank outlet hose clamp from the surge tank use J 38185  .
  3. Remove the surge tank outlet hose from the surge tank.

  4. Reposition the surge tank outlet hose clamp from the thermostat housing use J 38185. 
  5. Remove the surge tank outlet hose from the thermostat housing.
