Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See ZONE 9  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
  2. Remove right-front seat. Remove carpet retainer. Roll back carpet and insulation to access SDM. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip and disconnect SDM connector. See Fig 1. Remove SDM mounting bolts. Remove SDM.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure arrow on SDM is pointing towards front of vehicle. Tighten SDM bolts and seat mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system. See ZONE 9  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
