Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Sunfire and 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the transmission. Refer to TRANSAXLE or TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT .
  2. Remove the flywheel.

    Important:  Make sure not to damage the outside diameter of the crankshaft or chamber with any tool.

  3. Pry the crankshaft rear oil seal with a flat bladed tool.
