Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Sunfire and 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the crankshaft balancer. See Figure.
  2. Install a NEW crankshaft balancer bolt.
  3. Use J 38122-A  to prevent the crankshaft from rotating while tightening the crankshaft balancer bolt. See Figure.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolt to 100 N.m (74 lb ft) plus 75 degrees.

  4. Install the engine drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
