Tools Required

• J 8062  Valve Spring Compressor
• J 36017  Valve Guide Seal Remover
• J 43963  Valve Spring Compressor (off car)

Important:  Ensure that the valve train components are kept together and identified in order for proper re-installation in their original position.

1. Using the J 8062  and the J 43963,  compress the valve spring.
2. Remove the valve keys.
3. Slowly release the J 8062  and the J 43963  from the valve spring assembly.
4. Remove the retainer.

5. Remove the spring.

   NOTE: Do not damage the valve guide. Remove any burrs that have formed at the key groove by chamfering the valve stem with an oil stone or a file.
6. Remove the valve seal. Use the J 36017.  Do not reuse.

7. Remove the valve.
8. Remove the remaining valves.

9. Remove the cylinder head plugs.
