J 43650  Balance Shaft Bushing Remover/Installer

  1. Install the balance shaft bushing using the J 43650.

  2. Seat the balance shaft bushing into the bore using the J 43650  and a wrench.
  3. When the J 43650  is fully seated in the engine block remove it with a wrench.

    Important:  If the balance shafts are not properly timed to the engine, the engine may vibrate or make noise.

    Install the balance shaft assemblies to the engine using the following steps:

  4. Place the number one piston at TDC.
  5. Install the balance shaft drive chain sprocket on the crankshaft.
  6. Lubricate the balance shaft lobes with engine oil.
  7. Install the balance shafts into their bores.

  8. Install the balance shaft retaining bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the balance shaft retaining bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
