Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) contains a sensing device which converts vehicle velocity changes to an electrical signal. SDM processes electrical signals and compares them to values stored in memory. When signals exceed stored value, additional signal processing is performed and signals are compared to values stored in memory. When 2 signals exceed stored values, SDM causes current to flow through air bag modules, deploying air bags and causing DTC B1051 to set.
