Diagnostic Aids

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Sunfire and 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

A loss of serial data communication between SDM and Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC), battery voltage outside normal operating range of 9-16 volts or an internal malfunction in IPC or SDM will cause AIR BAG warning light to turn on.

NOTE: For circuit number and wire color identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .
