Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Sunfire and 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the accessory trim plate. Refer to TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) ACCESSORY (CHEVROLET) or TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) ACCESSORY (PONTIAC) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Remove the HVAC control assembly retaining screws.

  3. Pull the HVAC control assembly (1) away from the I/P.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connections.
  5. Disconnect the mode control cable. Refer to Mode Control Cable Replacement (Chevrolet)  or Mode Control Cable Replacement (Pontiac) .
  6. Disconnect the temperature control cable. Refer to Temperature Control Cable Replacement (Chevrolet)  or Temperature Control Cable Replacement (Pontiac) .
