Removal Procedure

- Remove the accessory trim plate. Refer to TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) ACCESSORY (CHEVROLET) or TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) ACCESSORY (PONTIAC) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Remove the HVAC control assembly retaining screws.
- Pull the HVAC control assembly (1) away from the I/P.
- Disconnect the electrical connections.
- Disconnect the mode control cable. Refer to Mode Control Cable Replacement (Chevrolet) or Mode Control Cable Replacement (Pontiac) .
- Disconnect the temperature control cable. Refer to Temperature Control Cable Replacement (Chevrolet) or Temperature Control Cable Replacement (Pontiac) .
