Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Sunfire and 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
In order to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage when you repair or replace the carpet, use the same thickness and material size as the original installation. Always return the carpet to the original location.
- Install the floor carpet.
- Install the floor carpet retainers. Refer to CARPET RETAINER REPLACEMENT (SEDAN) or CARPET RETAINER REPLACEMENT (COUPE) .
- On the sedan install the lower rear quarter trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR QUARTER LOWER .
- On the coupe install the rear quarter trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR QUARTER .
- Install the floor console. Refer to CONSOLE REPLACEMENT - FRONT FLOOR in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Install the seat belt anchor plate to the floor pan.
NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the front seat belt anchor bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 41 N.m (30 lb ft).
- Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to SEAT CUSHION REPLACEMENT - REAR in Seats.
- Install the front seats. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT in Seats.
- Enable the SIR system, if equipped with SIAB. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM and to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in SIR.
