Removal Procedure

CAUTION: When performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, the SIR system must be disabled. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zones. Failure to observe the correct procedure could cause deployment of the SIR components, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.
  1. Disable the SIR system, if equipped with Side Impact Air Bag (SIAB). Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM or DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in SIR.
  2. Position the driver or the passenger front bucket seat forward or rearward in order to gain access to the seat adjuster attaching nuts (3).
  3. Remove the seat adjuster stud covers (2) and seat adjuster nuts (3).
  4. Disconnect the seat belt wire harness on the driver's side.
  5. Disconnect the wire harness for the SIAB, if equipped.
  6. Remove the front bucket seat.
