Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Sunfire and 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the front seat back (1) to the front seat cushion (5).
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the front bucket seat back pivot bolt (3).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the pivot bolt to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  3. Install the front bucket seat recliner bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  4. Install the outer trim panel on the seat cushion. Refer to SEAT CUSHION OUTER TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT  .
  5. Fasten the wire harness to the cushion frame for the SIAB, if equipped.
  6. Fasten the lumbar cable to the cushion frame, if equipped.
  7. Install the lumbar actuator to the cushion frame, if equipped. Refer to LUMBAR REPLACEMENT - FRONT SEAT (PONTIAC)  .
  8. Align the lumbar knob to the splines on the actuator, if equipped.

    Press the knob onto the actuator until fully engaged.

  9. Install the front seat. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT  .
  10. Enable the SIR system, if equipped with SIAB. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM or to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in SIR.
