Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Sunfire and 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: Verify that the right seat adjuster (2) and the left seat adjuster (5) sliding mechanisms are in the same position, when you install the tie bar.
  1. Install the right seat adjuster (2) and the left seat adjuster (5) to the front bucket seat.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the bolts (1) to the seat adjusters (2, 5).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  3. Install the seat adjuster return spring (3) to the seat adjuster.

  4. Install the seat adjuster tie bar (2) to the seat adjusters.
  5. Install the tie bar bolts (1) to the seat adjusters tie bar (2).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb ft).

  6. Connect the seat belt wire harness.
  7. Install the driver front bucket seat. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT  .
  8. Enable the SIR system, if equipped with side impact inflatable restraints. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM or DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in SIR.
