Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Sunfire and 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Close the sunroof.
  2. Remove the sunroof window. Refer to SUNROOF WINDOW REPLACEMENT  .
  3. Remove the sunroof module assembly. Refer to SUNROOF MODULE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT  .
  4. Remove the sunshade panel (3). Refer to SUNROOF SUNSHADE PANEL REPLACEMENT  .
  5. Remove the sunroof motor/actuator (7). Refer to SUNROOF MOTOR/ACTUATOR REPLACEMENT  .

  6. Remove the rivets from the sunroof tube retainers, which are located on the motor bracket.
  7. Remove the sunroof track screws.
  8. Remove the tie wraps holding the drive tube (6) to the retaining tube (5).
  9. Pull the cable out of the plastic return tube.
  10. Remove the sunroof track and lifter arm assembly by pushing the track assembly inwards to loosen (9).
  11. Remove the sunroof drive tube retainer (10) from the end of the track and the copper drive tube.
