Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Sunfire and 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the front door trim panel upper extension. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - UPPER EXTENSION  .
  2. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - SIDE FRONT DOOR (PONTIAC)  or TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - SIDE FRONT DOOR (CHEVROLET)  .
  3. Remove the front door water deflector as required.
  4. Mark and remove the wires from the power door lock switch, if equipped.
  5. Mark and remove the wires from the door lock (5).
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector for the power window regulator, if equipped.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector for the power rear view mirror, if equipped.
  8. Disconnect the electrical connector for the radio speaker.
  9. Using a flat-bladed tool, remove the door rubber conduit from where it attaches at the windshield pillar.

  10. Using a flat-bladed tool, remove the door rubber conduit from where it attaches to the door.
  11. Disconnect the harness electrical connectors (2) from the front door.
  12. Remove the front door wiring harness out from the door.
  13. Remove the conduit from the harness.
