Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Sunfire and 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Raise the window to the full UP position.
  2. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - SIDE FRONT DOOR (PONTIAC)  or TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - SIDE FRONT DOOR (CHEVROLET)  .
  3. Remove the water deflector in order to access the lock cylinder. Refer to WATER DEFLECTOR REPLACEMENT - FRONT DOOR  .
  4. Remove the lower window channel retainer (2). Refer to WINDOW CHANNEL REPLACEMENT - FRONT SIDE REAR  .

  5. Remove the lock cylinder retaining clip (1).
  6. Remove the lock rod from the lock cylinder (3).
  7. Remove the lock cylinder (3) from the door.
