Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Sunfire and 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Position the impact bar to the rear end structure.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the impact bar retaining nuts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nuts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

  3. Install the energy absorber. Refer to ENERGY ABSORBER REPLACEMENT - REAR  .
  4. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to FASCIA REPLACEMENT - REAR BUMPER (CHEVROLET)  or FASCIA REPLACEMENT - REAR BUMPER (PONTIAC)  .
