Installation Procedure

  1. Install the upper bearing inner race (4).
  2. Install the upper bearing spring (3).
  3. Install the turn signal cancel cam (2).
  4. Lubricate the turn signal cancel cam (2) with GM P/N 12377900 (Canadian P/N 10953529).
  5. Install the bearing retainer using J 23653-SIR and J 42137.

    CAUTION: Refer to SIR INFLATOR MODULE COIL CAUTION in Caution and Notices.
  6. Install the SIR coil. Refer to SIR COIL ASSEMBLY (SEDAN) .
  7. Enable the SIR system. Refer toDISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in SIR.
