Removal Procedure

CAUTION: SIR CAUTION in Cautions and Notices
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in SIR.
  2. Remove the lock cylinder. Refer to IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER REPLACEMENT (WITHOUT KEY)   or  IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER REPLACEMENT (WITH KEY)   . 
  3. Remove the steering column tilt head housing. Refer to STEERING COLUMN TILT HEAD HOUSING REPLACEMENT  .
  4. Remove the 2 tapping screws (1).
  5. Remove the lock bolt support bracket (2).
  6. Remove the lock bolt assembly (3).
  7. Remove the ignition lock actuator assembly (4).
