Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  3. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to STEERING COLUMN TRIM COVERS REPLACEMENT  .
  4. Remove the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER REPLACEMENT (WITHOUT KEY)   or  IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER REPLACEMENT (WITH KEY)   . 
  5. Remove the retaining screws(2) from the ignition switch (3).
  6. Remove the ignition switch (3) from the steering column (1).
