WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Sunfire and 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: When working with electrical components refer to wiring schematics. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .

Inspect the following items:

  1. Battery

Perform the BATTERY TESTING & INSPECTION. See BATTERY TESTING & INSPECTION  .
  2. Wiring

Inspect the wiring for damage. Inspect all connections to the starter motor, the solenoid, the battery, and all ground connections.
  3. Engine

Verify that the engine is not seized.
If the battery, the wiring, and the engine are functioning properly, and the engine continues to crank slowly, replace the starter motor. See STARTER  .
