Removal (2.2L - L61 - Aluminum Engine)

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Raise and support the vehicle.
Disconnect the electrical connectors from the starter. See Fig 1 .
Remove the starter bolts. See Fig 2 .
Remove the starter.
