Wheel Cylinder: Removal

- Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Clean any dirt or foreign material around the wheel cylinder assembly inlet and pilot.
- Remove the brake pipe from the wheel cylinder. Install a rubber cap or plug to the exposed brake pipe fitting end in order to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination. Plug the open brake pipe end.
- Remove the brake drum. Remove the brake shoes. See BRAKE SHOES . Remove the wheel cylinder bolts. Remove the wheel cylinder.
