Vacuum Brake Booster: Installation

- Install the booster onto the vehicle. Install the booster pushrod to the brake pedal. Tilt the entire vacuum booster slightly in order to work the booster pushrod onto the pedal clevis pin without putting undue pressure on the pushrod.
- Install the brake booster to brake pedal retaining nuts. Tighten the booster to brake pedal retaining nuts to 20 ft lbs. (27 N.m). Install the left lower instrument panel.
- Install the booster vacuum hose to the vacuum check valve. Install the master cylinder and the EBCM/BPMV to the booster. Install the master cylinder retaining nuts. Tighten the master cylinder retaining nuts to 20 ft lbs. (27 N.m).
- Install the air cleaner assembly. Ensure that the slide pin is properly located into the bracket hole. Slide the pin, part of air cleaner assembly, into the bracket hole on the left strut tower. Verify full engagement of the inlet onto the resonator neck and no contact of the air cleaner to the strut tower. Position and install the air cleaner inlet over the resonator neck. Install the push in retainer from the air cleaner to the battery tray. Install the relay center and the push in retainer. Connect the relay battery feed cable into the upper air cleaner cover retaining clips. Install the battery and connect the cables. Connect the air cleaner outlet duct. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamps to 44 INCH lbs (5 N.m).
