Park Brake Cable (Right Rear): Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Reposition the tang on the connector to allow cable removal. Pull and hold the cable towards the rear of the car in order to create a slack in the cable. Remove the cable from the connector. Remove the cable from the axle bracket.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Remove the brake drum. Insert a screwdriver between the brake shoe and the lower part of the rear park brake lever.
  3. Remove the cable eyelet fitting from the rear park brake lever. Remove the conduit fitting from the backing plate while depressing the retaining tabs.
