Park Brake Cable (Front): Installation

  1. Install the cable through the floor pan, from the interior of the car to the exterior of the car. Install the cable into the clip.
  2. Ensure that the pawl spring is engaged with the notch on the ratchet. Install the cable conduit fitting to the lever assembly. Install the front parking brake cable button to the reel assembly.
  3. Install the left carpet retainer. Raise and support the vehicle.
  4. Install the cable to the equalizer assembly. Install the cable to the connector. Reposition the tang in order to retain the cable. Pull on the front parking brake cable at the rear of the vehicle in order to release the pawl spring from the notch on the ratchet. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Fully apply and release the hand brake 4-6 times in order to activate the self adjust system. Install the console.
