Drum Brake Backing Plate: Removal

- Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
- Remove the brake drum. Remove the brake shoes. See BRAKE SHOES .
- Remove the wheel cylinder. See WHEEL CYLINDER . Remove the parking brake cable from the backing plate. Remove the hub and bearing assembly. See appropriate REAR SUSPENSION article. Remove the backing plate.
