Drum Brake Adjusting Hardware: Installation

Do not over stretch the adjuster spring. Damage can occur if the spring is over stretched. Install the adjuster actuator lever. Install the straight end of the adjuster spring to the brake shoe. Install the hook end of the adjuster spring to the adjuster actuator lever. Inspect the adjuster for proper engagement with the drum brake system components. Adjust the rear drum brakes. See DRUM BRAKE ADJUSTMENT under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTION. Install the brake drum. Adjust the park brake system. See PARKING BRAKE under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTION. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Lower the vehicle.
