Brake Hose (Rear): Removal

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly.
  2. Clean all dirt and foreign material from the brake hoses and brake pipe fitting. Install a rubber cap or plug to the exposed brake pipe fitting end to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination. Use a backup wrench on the hose fitting, disconnect the brake pipes from the brake hose, then cap or plug the brake pipe fitting end. Do not bend the brake pipes or the brackets.
  3. Remove the brake hose retaining clip and from the hose mounting brackets. Remove the hose from the hose mounting brackets.
