Removal & Installation

  1. On 2.2L (L61) and 2.4L (LD9), remove the upper air cleaner and duct and the evaporative emission canister purge valve, if equipped. On 2.2L (LN2), remove serpentine belt. On all models, place a drain pan under vehicle. Remove the power steering hoses from the power steering pump. Remove the power steering pump mounting bolts from the power steering pump. Remove the power steering pump from the engine.
  2. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Fill and bleed hydraulic system. See HYDRAULIC SYSTEM BLEEDING  under LUBRICATION.
