Outer Tie Rod: Removal

Raise and support vehicle. Remove the front tire and wheel. Remove nut from outer tie rod ball stud. Loosen outer-to-inner tie rod lock nut. Using Steering Linkage Puller (J-24319-B), separate outer tie rod end from steering knuckle. Remove outer tie rod end from inner tie rod, noting number of turns required to remove. Inspect the inner tie rod shaft for bending or damaged threads. Clean the tapered surface of the steering knuckle.
