Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Sunfire and 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle .
  3. Remove the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement - On Vehicle (Without Key)  Or Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement - On Vehicle (With Key)  .
  4. Remove the retaining screws (2) from the ignition switch (3).
  5. Remove the ignition switch (3) from the steering column (1).
