Clutch Pedal Stays On Floor

  1. Did you review the clutch symptom operations and perform the necessary inspections? If yes, go to next step. If not, see VISUAL/PHYSICAL INSPECTION  .
  2. Inspect to see if the master cylinder pushrod has fallen off the clutch pedal. Has the master cylinder pushrod fallen off the clutch pedal? If yes, go to next step. If not, go to step  4 .
  3. Correctly install the master cylinder pushrod. See CLUTCH MASTER & ACTUATOR CYLINDERS  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, repair is complete. If not, go to next step.
  4. Inspect the reservoir for fluid. Is there fluid in the reservoir? If yes, go to step  6 . If not, go to next step.
  5. Inspect the clutch hydraulic line for leaks. Did you find and correct the condition? If yes, go to step  12 . If not, go to next step.
  6. Inspect for faulty master cylinder. Is the master cylinder faulty? If yes, go to next step. If not, go to step  8 .
  7. Replace the master cylinder. See CLUTCH MASTER & ACTUATOR CYLINDERS  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, go to step  12 . If not, go to next step.
  8. Remove the transmission. See CLUTCH ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Inspect the clutch actuator for binding. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, go to step  12 . If not, go to next step.
  9. Inspect the clutch release bearing. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, go to step  12 . If not, go to next step.
  10. Inspect the clutch diaphragm spring. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, go to step  12 . If not, go to next step.
  11. Replace the clutch pressure plate. See CLUTCH ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Did you find a repair the condition? If yes, go to next step. If not, go to step  2 .
  12. Operate the system in order to verify the repair. Did you correct the condition? If yes, repair is complete. If not, return to step  2 .
