Clutch Assembly: Installation

- Position clutch disc and pressure plate assembly onto flywheel. Using Clutch Arbor (J-29074), center clutch disc.
- When installing new pressure plate, align "X" stamped on flywheel assembly with paint mark on pressure plate. Using sequence identified in illustration, install and tighten pressure plate-to-flywheel bolts evenly to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . See Fig 3 . Lubricate inside diameter of bearing with grease. Bleed power steering system. See POWER STEERING HYDRAULIC SYSTEM under BLEEDING.
- To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all bolts and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Check transaxle fluid level. Add fluid as necessary. See SERVICING - M/T article in MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS.
- Position clutch disc and pressure plate onto flywheel. Using Clutch Arbor (J-29074), center clutch disc.
- When installing NEW pressure plate, align "X" stamped on flywheel assembly with paint mark on pressure plate.
