Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the front exhaust pipe, automatic transmission only. Refer to Intermediate Pipe Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
  3. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose (1) from the power steering gear (3).

  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Remove the upper air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls-2.2L (L61).
  6. Remove the power steering pressure hose (3) from the power steering pressure pipe (4).

  7. Remove the power steering pressure hose (3) from the vehicle.
