Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Sunfire and 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the wheel bearing/hub assembly (1) to the steering knuckle (2) and wheel drive shaft.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the wheel bearing/hub assembly mounting bolts (1). Tighten the bolts evenly to draw the bearing assembly (3) to the steering knuckle (4), then tighten the bolts to specifications.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 95 N.m (70 lb ft).

  3. Install the brake rotor, and install the brake caliper with brake pads as an assembly. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  4. Install the wheel drive shaft nut. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement in Wheel Drive Shafts.
  5. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
