Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Sunfire and 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the temperature control cable to the HVAC control assembly.
  2. Snap in the flag. Snap the die cast end form over the lever post.
  3. Lock the cable flag to the HVAC control assembly.

  4. Install the cable cover.
  5. Install the HVAC control assembly. Refer to HVAC Control Assembly Replacement (Chevrolet)  or HVAC Control Assembly Replacement (Pontiac) 

    .

  6. Install the cable to the temperature door lever.

    7. NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  7. Install the cable flag and screw to the HVAC module assembly.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  8. Install the I/P carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel (I/P) Carrier Replacement (Chevrolet) or Instrument Panel (I/P) Carrier Replacement (Pontiac) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
