Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Sunfire and 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the temperature control cable to the HVAC control assembly.
  2. Snap the cable flag to the base of the HVAC control assembly.

  3. Snap the die cast end form over the lever post.
  4. Install the cable cover.
  5. Install the cable to the temperature door lever.

    6. NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Install the cable flag and screw to the HVAC module assembly.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the HVAC control assembly. Refer to HVAC Control Assembly Replacement (Chevrolet)  or HVAC Control Assembly Replacement (Pontiac) .
  8. Install the I/P trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory (Pontiac) or Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory (Chevrolet) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
