Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Sunfire and 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Connect the electrical connections.
  2. Connect the mode control cable. Refer to Mode Control Cable Replacement (Chevrolet)  or Mode Control Cable Replacement (Pontiac) .
  3. Connect the temperature control cable. Refer to Temperature Control Cable Replacement (Chevrolet)  or Temperature Control Cable Replacement (Pontiac) .
  4. Install the HVAC control assembly (1) to the I/P.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.

  5. Install the HVAC control assembly retaining screws.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the I/P trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory (Pontiac) or Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory (Chevrolet) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
