Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the accessory trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory (Pontiac) or Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory (Chevrolet) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Remove the HVAC control assembly retaining screws.
  3. Pull the HVAC control assembly (1) away from the I/P.

  4. Disconnect the electrical connections.
  5. Disconnect the mode control cable. Refer to Mode Control Cable Replacement (Chevrolet)  or Mode Control Cable Replacement (Pontiac) .
  6. Disconnect the temperature control cable. Refer to Temperature Control Cable Replacement (Chevrolet)  or Temperature Control Cable Replacement (Pontiac) .
