1 Did you perform A Diagnostic System Check-Theft Deterrent? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Theft Deterrent

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition leaving the engine OFF.
  3. With the scan tool, command the SECURITY indicator OFF.
Does the SECURITY indicator turn off when commanded?		 Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems Go to Step 3 
3 Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Replacement (Chevrolet) or Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Replacement (Pontiac) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
Did you complete the repair?		 Go to Step 4  -
4 Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
Did you correct the condition?		 System OK Go to Step 2
