Seat - Manual Adjuster Does Not Unlock

The Adjuster Does Not Unlock

Condition Action
The locking wire is too loose or the locking wire is disconnected. Tighten or reconnect the locking wire in order to allow the lock bar to disengage from the locking slots in the adjuster lower channel when the lock control lever is activated. Refer to Seat Adjuster Replacement - Front (Driver)  or Seat Adjuster Replacement - Front (Passenger)  Locking Wire Tension Adjustment.
The adjuster lock bar sticks or binds.
  • Lubricate the lock bar pivot.
  • If the bar binds, eliminate the cause of the binding or replace the adjuster.
