Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Sunfire and 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. With an assistant install the rear compartment lid (3).
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

  2. With an assistant install the hinge bolts (1) to the rear compartment lid (3).

    Tighten:  Tighten the rear compartment hinge to lid bolts to 7 N.m (62 lb in).

  3. Install the compartment lid latch. Refer to Latch Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid .
  4. Install the rear lid spoiler. Refer to Spoiler Replacement - Rear (Pontiac)  or Spoiler Replacement - Rear (Chevrolet) .
  5. Install the rear lid lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid .
  6. Connect the wire harness to the compartment lid applique. Refer to Compartment Lid Applique Replacement - Rear (Pontiac Sedan/Chevrolet - All) .
  7. Adjust the compartment lid as necessary. Refer to Compartment Lid Adjustment - Rear .
