Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Sunfire and 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 in SIR.
  2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) trim pad. Refer to Trim Pad Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) (Chevrolet)  or Trim Pad Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) (Pontiac) .
  3. Remove the screws (1) from the I/P cluster trim panel (3).

  4. Remove the I/P cluster trim panel (3). Pull rearward in order to disengage the retainers (2).
  5. Disconnect the electrical connectors for the headlamp dimmer switch.
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector for the cigar lighter, if equipped.
