Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Sunfire and 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Connect the electrical connector for the cigar lighter, if equipped.
  2. Connect the electrical connectors for the headlamp dimmer switch.
  3. Align the retaining tabs (2) with the I/P carrier.
  4. Install the I/P cluster trim panel (3). Press the plate into the I/P carrier to engage the retainers (2).
    5. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

  5. Install the screws (1) to the I/P cluster trim panel (3).

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2.3 N.m (20 lb in).

  6. Install the I/P cluster trim panel (3). Refer to Trim Pad Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) (Chevrolet)  or Trim Pad Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) (Pontiac) .
  7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 in SIR.
