Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Sunfire and 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the ignition lock actuator assembly (4).
  2. Install the lock bolt assembly (3).
  3. Install the lock bolt support bracket (2).
    NOTE: Refer toFastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the 2 tapping screws (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).

  5. Install the steering column tilt head housing. Refer to Steering Column Tilt Head Housing Replacement .
  6. Install the lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement (Without Key)  or Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement (With Key) .
  7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in SIR.
