Enabling Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Sunfire and 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
  2. Connect the SIS-RH connector (4).

  3. Install the CPA (3) to the SIS-RH connector (4).
  4. Install the SIS-RH to the center pillar (1). Refer to Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor Replacement (Sedan)  or Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor Replacement (Coupe) .

  5. Install the RH center pillar upper trim. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Upper Center Pillar in Interior Trim.
  6. Install the AIR BAG fuse to the LH I/P wiring harness junction block.

  7. Install the LH I/P outer trim cover. Refer to Instrument Panel (I/P) Outer Trim Cover Replacement (Chevrolet) or Instrument Panel (I/P) Outer Trim Cover Replacement (Pontiac) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  8. Staying well away from both air bags, turn ON the ignition.
    1. The AIR BAG indicator will flash 7 times.
    2. The AIR BAG indicator will then turn OFF.
  9. Perform Diagnostic System Check - SIR  if the AIR BAG indicator does not operate as described.
